TRIKPOS.COM, BANDUNG – Wakil Gubernur (Wagub) Jawa Barat (Jabar) Uu Ruzhanul Ulum memotivasi kontingen Jabar cabang olahraga (cabor) balap motor, yakni road race dan motocross, yang akan berlaga di PON XX Papua 2021.
Pak Uu -sapaan Wagub Jabar- mendorong para atlet Jabar untuk tampil maksimal dan tancap gas guna meraih medali sekaligus mewujudkan target Jabar menjadi juara umum PON XX Papua 2021.
“Kalau biasanya yang dibawa bendera tim, komunitas, atau grup, sekarang adik-adik membawa bendera daerah. Dan yang dibawa tidak tanggung-tanggung, yakni bendera Provinsi Jawa Barat,” kata Pak Uu di Aula Barat Gedung Sate, Kota Bandung, Senin (27/9/2021).
“Jadi adik-adik ke sana membawa nama provinsi yang hebat, yang juara. Provinsi yang harus dibanggakan. Harapan kami, cabor motocross dan road race harus jadi kebanggaan kita semua,” imbuhnya.
Pak Uu mengajak para atlet untuk menyiapkan mental juara dengan sebaik-baiknya. Selain itu, ia juga meminta kepada para atlet untuk mengedepankan sportivitas saat bertanding.
“Saya harap. Satu, siapkan mental. Artinya, harus siap bahwa kita ini adalah peserta, tidak gugup, tidak takut, tidak ragu, kalau mental tenang, kita akan yakin saat bertanding,” katanya.
Tak hanya itu, Pak Uu pun menekankan pentingnya soliditas dan kekompakan tim. Terakhir, yang tidak boleh ketinggalan, adalah berdoa dan juga meminta restu orang tua agar mendapat keberkahan.
Ketua IMI Jabar, Fachrul Sarman, menyebut pihaknya membutuhkan dukungan penuh dari Pemda Provinsi Jabar maupun KONI Jabar terkait spareparts dan peralatan lainnya. Ia pun berharap ajang adu kebut di nomor road race dan motocross bisa menyumbang emas untuk Jabar.
Ia menyebut, dari delapan emas yang ada di cabor balap motor, pihaknya menargetkan dua emas untuk diraih. “Target kami inginnya dua emas, ada delapan emas yang diperebutkan untuk bermotor ini,” katanya. (ADV)
