TRIKPOS.COM, PALEMBANG –  Gubernur Sumsel H. Herman Deru mengapresiasi penyelenggaraan Festival Piala Dunia Anak Sumsel U-12 dan Kejuaraan Sepakbola U-20 Piala Gubernur Sumsel 2022 serta Gerakan Sejuta Bola yang digagas Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga (Dispora) Sumsel.

Ia optimis Festival Piala Dunia Anak U-12 dan Kejuaraan Sepakbola U-20 Piala Gubernur Sumsel Tahun 2022 dapat menjadi seleksi alam untuk melahirkan bibit unggul dari belahan wilayah di Sumsel.

“Saya apresiasi sekali, mudah-mudahan dengan adanya seleksi alam ini akan lahir bibit baru yang muncul dari penjuru Sumsel. Dengan harapan mereka dapat menjadi pemain timnas dan profesional tingkat dunia,” harapnya.

Lebih jauh Ia mengatakan pelaksanaan turnamen ini sebagai ajang untuk mengukir prestasi. Selain juga untuk menjalin silaturahmi antar insan sepakbola di Sumsel khususnya di Kab/kota.

Melalui media kompetisi ini juga diharapkan dapat mengasah skill, kemampuan para pemain muda secara individu maupun organisasi. Selain itu juga untuk menanamkan jiwa sportivitas dan rasa kebersamaan antar pelajar dan anak muda di Sumsel.

Mengutip kata-kata tokoh terkenal dunia Mahatma Ghandi, Herman Deru mengatakan upaya adalah hal yang harus dilakukan untuk mencapai sebuah kesuksesan.

“Kamu mungkin tidak pernah tahu apa hasil dari tindakanmu (bisa berhasil bisa gagal). Tetapi jika kamu tidak melakukan apa-apa, maka tidak akan ada hasil,”

Demikian dikatakan Herman Deru menyemangati anak-anak peserta Festival Sepakbola Dunia Anak U-12 dan Kejuaraan Sepakbola U-20 Piala Gubernur Sumsel Senin (7/11) di Lapangan Atletik komplek Jakabaring Sport City (JSC).

Dalam kesempatan itu Gubernur Sumsel juga mengajak para tamu yang hadir dan para peserta mendoakan korban tragedi Kanjuruhan beberapa waktu yang lalu. Iapun berharap tragedi tersebut menjadi pembelajaran bagi penyelenggaraan kompetisi di Sumsel.

Sementara itu Kepala Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Sumsel,  Rudi Irawan Ishak mengatakan bahwa kegiatan ini diikuti sedikitnya 48 club untuk peserta U-12 dan 18 club dari peserta U-20 memperebutkan hadiah puluhan juta rupiah.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut selain menggunting pita tanda dimulainya festival dan kejuaraan, Gubernur juga melakukan kick off serta penyerahan bola pada sejumlah klub bola.
